Our latest video documentary showcases an amazing carbon credit project by a Udzungwa Carbon Project (UCL). The project started from June 2021, planting 7,500 hectares of indigenous tree species. The credit ownership is 100% UCL Tanzania, with 50% profit share with local communities, most importantly the credits will be registered in and sold from Tanzania.

The project has national importance of restoring the water shade of the Mngeta River, and this will also have a large positive impact on water resources of Tanzania. It will increase the dry season river flows of the Mngeta which flows into the larger Kilombero River and ultimately feeds the Rufiji River where the 2.1-gigawatt Nyerere Hydropower Project is currently under construction.
